Cryonics: The Meaning and Story of Cryogenic Biostasis

Here are several informative YouTube videos:

Interview with David Ettinger on the Cryonics Institute:

Since 1972, a company called Alcor has been preserving legally dead people at very low temperatures. The hope is that, in the future, scientists will be able to revive these "patients," giving them a chance for eternal life. It may sound like the stuff of science fiction, but Singularity 1-on-1 host Nikola Danaylov met with Alcor president and CEO Max More to tour the facility and learn about the field of "cryonics."

Cryonics: Meaning and Fundamentals produced by the LifeBoat Foundation. It goes through the definition of cryonics, the differences from cryogenics and suspended animation, and the three main stages of the process.

Cryonics: The Story of Cryogenic Biostasis is a thought provoking video produced by Alcor.

The film traces the ideas behind and history of cryogenic preservation and the arbitrary subtleties and evolution of our understanding of the differences between life and death.

It starts with Robert Ettinger's seminal book The Prospect of Immortality and moves on to interviews with notable people such as Natasha Vita-More, Aubrey de Grey and others. The film proceeds with the history of the Alcor Foundation and the specific details surrounding the procedure itself, culminating with the consequent storage of the patient within liquid nitrogen-cooled tanks. Finally, the movie looks into the promise of and cutting-edge research in the science of cryobiology, which is the study of organ and tissue preservation in deep cold and their consequent recovery and transplantation with minimal damage.
