In the "Electric Kool-aid Acid Test" it is 'said' that you are either "on the bus" or "off the bus" in the event of a technological singularity you will no longer be able to make that 'arbitrary' distinction - since all life before the singularity will be "off the bus" while all 'life' post singularity will be, albeit fleetingly, "on the bus". More than this we cannot say.
